While talking to the editors and journalists of the news agency at PTI Headquarters, Ramesh also said that the opposition will unite and cross the 272 mark in the elections and oust the BJP from power. Claiming that a BJP MP had bought electoral bonds after getting infrastructure contracts, Ramesh said, “Look at the way the electoral bond scheme works. Bonds worth Rs 4,000 crore are directly linked to contracts worth Rs 4 lakh crore. There is a clear nexus between electoral bonds and awarding of contracts,” he said, adding that he had evidence that bonds worth Rs 4,000 crore purchased by several companies in favor of the BJP were being directly linked to awarding of contracts and by central agencies against them.
