Kevin Pietersen On Ravindra Jadeja: Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen has given a mantra to the English batsmen to deal with spinner Ravindra Jadeja in the upcoming Test series against India. He has said that Ravindra Jadeja is no Muralitharan or Shane Warne, if the technique is right then you will not be in danger from him.
In an interview with 'The Times', Pietersen said, 'I have faced Jadeja a lot. It is all about your technique. Jadeja is neither Muralitharan nor Shane Warne. He is a left-arm spinner, who bowls mostly on one side. Sometimes his ball slides. If your technique is good enough to deal with slippery balls, then you will not face any problem against Jadeja. If your feet are in the right place, you are not playing on the front foot, you are playing behind the direction of the ball, then you will be safe. Just take care that you do not get bowled or LBW.
Pietersen says, 'Even if you are playing his balls towards slip, there is no problem. You have enough time to guess the line and length of his ball. You just have to avoid being bowled and LBW.
'Ashwin's 'Doosra' hit a lot of shots on the balls.
Pietersen also mentioned R Ashwin here. Recalling the old Test series, he said that he used to understand which ball Ashwin was going to bowl. Pietersen also said that everyone must have seen that I used to hit Ashwin's 'Doosra' balls on the off side a lot.
