Blake Shelton Says He is ‘Heartbroken’ over Joe Bonsall’s Deaththeinsiderinsight

Blake Shelton is mourning the lack of Joe Bonsall.

“I am heartbroken to listen to of my pal Joe Bonsall’s passing. I’ve NEVER seen Joe when he wasn’t smiling and utterly energetic,” Shelton, 48, wrote alongside a photograph performing with the band.

He continued, “He completely cherished singing like nobody I ever met. My ideas and prayers are along with his household and his @theoakridgeboys brothers. All of us misplaced a particular individual at this time.”

In 2016, Shelton collaborated with the Southern gospel group on his tune “Doing It to Nation Songs.”

Bonsall died from issues of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), in keeping with a press launch shared with PEOPLE.

In September the band introduced a celebratory farewell tour to commemorate their fiftieth anniversary.
