IND Vs ENG: The England and Wales Cricket Board has announced the replacement of Harry Brook for the 5-Test series against India starting from January 25. Dan Lawrence will now be a part of the team in place of Harry Brook in the series against India. Harry Brook has returned to England even before the start of the series due to personal reasons. ECB has announced that Lawrence will reach India within the next 24 hours and join the team.
ECB announced the replacement of Harry Brook immediately after his exit from the series. The ECB issued a statement saying, “Dan Lawrence will join the England team for the series against India.” Lawrence will join the team within the next 24 hours.''
Earlier, ECB informed about Harry Brook being out of India tour. The ECB issued a statement about Brook saying, “Harry Brook will not be a part of the series against India due to personal reasons and he is going back to England.” Brooke's family has appealed that their privacy be taken care of.''
Lawrence starts bowling
Let us tell you that this is the second time that Dan Lawrence has got a chance to visit India. In 2021, Lawrence was part of the 4-Test series against India. In the fourth Test in Ahmedabad, Lawrence batted brilliantly for England and played innings of 46 and 50 runs. However, England had to face defeat in this series. Lawrence made his debut against Sri Lanka in the year 2021. Since his debut, Lawrence has scored 551 runs while playing 11 tests and his average during this period has been 29.
Apart from batting, Lawrence has the ability to bowl. Lawrence has taken three wickets in Test cricket. Lawrence is an off-spinner and recently took four wickets against Hobart in the Big Bash League.
