Former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, arrested in the land scam, was presented in the court by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) team on Thursday. ED has sought 10 days' remand of Soren. Amidst the political crisis, the Governor has called Jharkhand Legislative Party leader Champai Soren to Raj Bhavan at 5.30 pm. Just before the arrest of Hemant Soren on Wednesday, Champai Soren was elected the leader of the legislature party. After which Champai had sought time to meet the Governor on Thursday.

At the same time, Hemant Soren had challenged his arrest in the High Court and appealed for immediate hearing. However, the High Court said that there is no urgency in this matter. Meanwhile, Pil Sibal has also filed a petition in the Supreme Court on behalf of Hemant Soren, which can be heard on Friday also.
Grand alliance MLAs can be shifted to Hyderabad
Amidst the political crisis in Jharkhand, there is news that the Grand Alliance (JMM, RJD, Congress) may shift its MLAs to Hyderabad. Legislature party leader Champai Soren and 5 MLAs will remain in Ranchi, who will keep an eye on the situation. The remaining MLAs will be shifted to Hyderabad. BJP has also called a meeting of its legislature party on Friday 2 February on the entire matter.
Arrested after 7 hours of interrogation
ED arrested Hemant Soren on Wednesday after seven hours of interrogation in the Army land scam case in Ranchi. Before his arrest, Hemant Soren went to Raj Bhavan and submitted his resignation to the Governor. ED officials took him out from the back gate of Raj Bhavan itself.
Said after the arrest – the struggle will continue
According to the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Hemant Soren was interrogated as part of the investigation into 'a big racket of illegal change of land ownership by the mafia' in Jharkhand. A post was shared from Hemant Soren's X handle, in which he gave the message of continuing the struggle through a poem.
