Jon Bon Jovi’s mom, Carol A. Bongiovi, has died. She was 83.
Carol died on Tuesday, July 9, three days in need of her 84th birthday, at Monmouth Medical Heart, Lengthy Department, N.J., PEOPLE confirms.
“Our mom was a drive to be reckoned with, her spirit and can-do angle formed this household. She will probably be drastically missed,” Bon Jovi, 62, instructed PEOPLE in an announcement on behalf of the household.

Other than being the founding father of her son’s eponymous band’s fan membership, Carol was an entrepreneur working a number of companies. The Erie, Penn. native enlisted within the U.S. Marine Corps in 1959, the place she served her nation honorably and met her future husband, John Bongiovi, Sr.
The couple later moved to Sayreville, N.J., the place she and her husband raised their household. They later settled in Holmdel, N.J., the place she resided till her dying.
