The general public also came to see this magnificent ceremony. The ceremony started at around 5.15 pm.
President Murmu reached the venue riding in a traditional 'buggy'. This brought back the old charm of the ceremony, which started in the 1950s.
'Veer Bharat' and 'Kesariya Bana' mesmerized
This magnificent function started with 'Shankhanaad' by the collective band, which enthralled the audience. Raisina Hills echoed with the sound of charming and groovy Indian tunes played by military and paramilitary bands. After this, tunes like 'Veer Bharat', 'Kesariya Bana' and 'Deshon Ka Sartaj Bharat' were played by the Pipe and Drum Band. He mesmerized the people with 'Chakravyuh' and 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam'.
Slogans of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' were raised
The CAPF Band also played 'Bharat Ke Jawan' and 'Vijay Bharat' among other tunes. The audience, including young and old, cheered the band's performance and at the end of the ceremony many people even raised slogans of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai'.
After this, the Indian Air Force band enthralled the audience with tunes like 'Swadeshi', 'Rejoice in Raisina' and 'Tiger Hill'.
The melodious tunes of the Indian Navy Band
Some members carried musical instruments decorated with lights which sometimes glowed in the tricolor theme. The tune of 'Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram' impressed the audience.
After this, the audience was treated to spectacular tunes like 'INS Vikrant', 'Ekla Chalo Re', 'Samudra Darshak', 'Mission Chandrayaan', 'Jai Bharti' and 'Hum Narayan Hain' played by the Indian Navy Band.
Concluded with the tune of 'Saare Jahan Se Achcha'
The tune of 'Agrani Bharat' led by a flautist was heart touching. The program concluded with the very popular tune of 'Saare Jahan Se Achha'. In the evening, the Raisina Hills complex was dazzled with vibrantly colored lights.
