“Work from home is a good option”

Being an IT city, a large number of people from other parts of the country live in Bengaluru. Due to water shortage, now they are considering options of working from home. An engineer named Shruti said, “Working from home would be a good option, but only when people go home, so that the population reduces and water consumption reduces.”

Bengaluru is getting less water than required

Let us tell you that water supply in Bengaluru is mainly from Kaveri river and ground water. Recycled water from sewage treatment plants is used for most non-potable water. Due to lack of rain for some time, the primary sources have also gone down. Bengaluru needs 2,600-2,800 million liters of water every day and currently the supply is half the requirement. For this reason the people of the city have to struggle for water.
