Amidst the political turmoil, the Bihar government on Friday transferred 22 officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), 79 of the Indian Police Service (IPS) and 45 of the Bihar Administrative Service (BAS). The transferred officers include five District Magistrates (DM) and 17 Superintendents of Police (SP). Earlier on January 23, the state government had transferred 29 senior IAS officers. A senior official of the General Administration Department said that the transfers and postings made in the last few days are routine exercises.
