BJP state unit president Sukant Majumdar alleged in a press conference held here that the state government led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is misusing public money by considering it as its own money.

Majumdar alleged, “His government has tried to loot public money everywhere.” The CAG report is a slap on the face of their government and exposes it.” BJP's national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia made a strong comment and alleged that even though Mamata Banerjee talks about “Maa, Mati and Manush”, But the Trinamool government in West Bengal is the 'mother of all scams'.

He alleged that the Trinamool Congress president is a 'thief' and 'kingpin of the corrupt'. Bhatia said, “This is a fight between two ideologies.” He claimed that all the constituents of the opposition 'India' alliance (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) belong to the ideology at the center of which is corruption and family rule, while Modi government is going to encourage honesty and rid the society of corruption.

According to Bhatia and Majumdar, the report underlined that around 2.4 lakh utilization certificates for completed projects were required to be submitted within the stipulated time, but the state government did not do so. He said that utilization certificates have not been submitted for projects worth about Rs 1.95 lakh crore.

Both the leaders alleged that the Mamata Banerjee government had withdrawn Rs 3,400 crore from the emergency fund and one-third of the amount was for the use of the Home Ministry, which she herself heads. He said that the government does not have any account of this amount.

Bhatia questioned, “Was this amount given to the Rohingyas, their family members, or to incite riots?” Bhatia alleged that whether it is Congress, or Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Rashtriya Janata Party. No one from the party (RJD) or Trinamool Congress should believe that they are above the law. He said that many leaders having this kind of arrogance are behind bars.

Bhatia said that she has forgotten that the rod of law straightens out even the biggest corrupt people. He targeted the state government over a recent incident in which Enforcement Directorate officials were attacked by supporters of a Trinamool leader when they had gone to raid his house in connection with an investigation into a corruption case.
