At the same time, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav made a post on social media site X after this interim budget. In this post he wrote that if any budget is not for development and if any development is not for the people then it is useless. The BJP government has created a shameful record by completing a decade of anti-people budgets, which will never be broken again because now is the time for a positive government to come. This is the 'farewell budget' of BJP.

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has also given his reaction regarding this interim budget. He said that this budget speech was one of the shortest budget speeches recorded till date. Much of this did not come to light. He talked about foreign investment, without acknowledging that investment has declined significantly. He talked about many things in vague language, like 'confidence' and 'hope' etc. But when it comes to concrete data, there is very little data available. This would be a very disappointing speech completely shrouded in generalities and without sufficient content and willingness to address the specific problems of the economy.
