Will driverless cars ever run in India? This question must have come to your mind many times. But to find the answer to this question, we take you to Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, where these days the trial of a driverless car is going on.
This Bolero, which looks very common and looks like any other jeep on the road, is something special. Actually, this is a vehicle which does not require a driver to drive. In the beginning, the driver simply starts it and leaves it, then whether there is a vehicle coming from the front or a human being, this car makes its own path by applying its calculations.
In fact, Sanjeev Sharma, a young engineer from Bhopal, who has done electrical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, has succeeded in making a driverless car after about 8 years of hard work and has done the trial by driving a driverless jeep for about 50 thousand kilometers. Also scored. This jeep runs on robotic technology. Watch Video:-
After doing B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Roorkee, Sanjeev Sharma also studied in colleges in Israel and Canada. But Sanjeev had a dream of coming to his country and reducing road accidents here and for this he started his own company and created a software which can control the car without a driver through the sensors and cameras installed in the car and through Artificial Intelligence. Does.
Its sensors are so effective that if it comes in front of any vehicle or person, the vehicle itself estimates the path and moves away from the side. By forming an autonomous robotic company, Sanjeev Sharma started the trial of this jeep from 2015-16, which has 12 cameras and many sensors. With the help of cameras, sensors and GPS installed in the jeep, a visual evaluation data is sent to the software installed in the jeep, due to which the software installed in the jeep creates a 3D map of the vehicle's surroundings and the vehicle automatically assesses the other vehicles or people present in front. -She keeps moving forward herself. According to Sanjeev, he started the company in 2015 and in the year 2021, he received a grant of 3 million dollars for the trial of this project. Till now he has done the trial by driving the car for about 50 thousand kilometers. Engineer Sanjeev believes that by the end of this year he will completely complete this trial.
Many companies in the country and abroad are showing interest in this startup of Sanjeev, while soon West Central Railway can also use this project of Sanjeev so that it can be implemented in the railways from the safety point of view.
