After giving a blockbuster like 'Pathan', director Siddharth Anand is ready to deliver a hit once again. His film 'Fighter' with Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone is making waves in theaters these days. 'Fighter', which is being called India's first aerial action film, is impressing the public a lot and its success is also visible in the box office collection of the film.
'Fighter', which was released in theaters on Thursday, had a slower start than expected, but the solid reviews received by the film and the positive word of mouth of the public started having an impact on its earnings from the very first day. On Friday, the Republic Day holiday, 'Fighter' took a jump of about 70%. After such a big jump, the film maintained its momentum on Saturday and Sunday and made solid weekend collections.
'Fighter' crosses Rs 100 crore in first weekend
'Fighter', which opened less than Rs 25 crore on Thursday, collected Rs 41.20 crore on Saturday. The Republic Day holiday helped the film a lot. After such a big day, the film earned 27.60 crores on Saturday and remained solid.
Now Sunday's trade reports say that 'Fighter' has collected between Rs 28 to 29 crores on the fourth day. Earnings in the final figures may be slightly higher than this estimate. That means, in four days till now, the net collection of 'Fighter' has exceeded Rs 120 crore.
Siddharth Anand's support proved successful for Hrithik
With 'Fighter', Hrithik's 7th Rs 100 crore film has come to his credit. This film has brought the second best weekend collection of Hrithik's career. The biggest weekend collection so far in Hrithik's career has come from 'War'. Hrithik's film with Tiger Shroff collected more than Rs 166 crore at the box office in the first weekend.
'Bang Bang' is the third top opening in Hrithik's career after 'War' and 'Fighter'. Hrithik's pairing with Katrina Kaif had earned Rs 94 crore at the box office in the first weekend. This weekend collection is the proof of how successful the collaboration between Hrithik Roshan and director Siddharth Anand is at the box office. All three best weekend collections of Hrithik's career have come from Siddharth's films.
Now the biggest test in front of 'Fighter' is on Monday. The first working day of the week can make or break the future of films. The way the box office trend of 'Fighter' is going, if it manages to earn less than 60% decline on Monday, then the further journey of the film will be very smooth.
