Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh):

Today, the first Holi was celebrated after the inauguration of the grand Ram temple of Ayodhya in January this year. A huge crowd of devotees gathered since morning to participate in the festival of offering colors and sweets to the decorated idol of Ram Lalla in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. The temple priests and devotees played traditional Holi with abeer and gulal. Also, 56 types of dishes were presented to Ramlala as Prasad.

Acharya Satyendra Das, chief priest of the temple, said, “Ram Lalla is celebrating his first Holi after the consecration in the temple. His attractive idol has been decorated with flowers, gulal has been applied on his forehead. On this occasion, the idol of Ram Lalla is dressed in pink. Was worn.”

The temple priests sang Holi songs along with the devotees and danced in front of the idol in celebration.

This celebration extended beyond the limits of the temple. Due to the Holi fever in the ancient city of Ayodhya, devotees were seen gathering in large numbers outside the temple premises to celebrate the Rangotsav.

Adequate security measures were taken to control the huge crowd and ensure accessible darshan to the devotees.

The Ram temple was opened to the public on January 23, a day after the much-discussed Pran Pratistha ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and was attended by many politicians and celebrities.

The construction of Ram temple was started after a long legal battle. The Supreme Court had given its verdict in favor of the temple in November 2019. While addressing the nation, Prime Minister Modi had called the consecration of the idol of Ram Lalla as the arrival of a new era.
