At Ghazipur police station Mardah, the bus carrying the bride's party to Shiv Mandir for marriage came under the influence of high tension wire and a major accident occurred. The atmosphere of the wedding turned into mourning. 5 people including the driver burnt to death on the spot. Electricity Minister AK Sharma, who reached Ghazipur after the accident late in the evening, expressed grief over the accident and ordered strict action against careless officers and employees and said that after the accident, XEN, SDO, JE of Ghazipur have been suspended with immediate effect. And the services of the line men have been terminated and a departmental inquiry is being conducted against them.

Injured people admitted to Mau hospital and Ghazipur medical college.
People injured in this accident were brought to Mau Hospital and Ghazipur Medical College Hospital for treatment. A total of 5 injured are being treated in Ghazipur. On the spot, DM Ghazipur Aryaka Akhauri confirmed the accident and talked about strict action against careless electricity workers.

Ghazipur MP Afzal Ansari also reached to meet the injured. He met the injured and called it an accident and called for negligence on the part of the electricity department and called for action against the guilty local officials and line men. He also raised question marks on the line checking campaign of electricity workers and the breaking of FIRs and illegal recovery. He told the government that the dilapidated system should be rectified soon.

Victim woman's words
A woman named Meera, who was traveling in the bus and was the victim of this accident, said that about 40 to 50 people were traveling in the bus. Many of them have died. Crying, Meera said, 'He was going to Ghazipur's Mahare with the wedding procession. While on the way, the bus suddenly stopped. There were many people in the bus, about 50. I was sitting in the front of the bus and was thrown out. My children were also in the same bus which caught fire.
