Home voting started on Friday in 12 Lok Sabha constituencies of the first phase of Lok Sabha elections in Rajasthan. An officer gave this information. Voting for 12 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan will be held in the first phase on April 19. Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta said that voters above 85 years of age and more than 40 percent disabled voters have been provided the facility of home voting by the Election Commission of India.

He said that elderly and disabled voters are enthusiastically exercising their franchise while sitting at home. Kamala Devi, a resident of Banipark, Jaipur, said that being 93 years old, she had started avoiding voting and faces problems in walking and standing.

Expressing her happiness after voting, Kamala Devi said that this innovation will infuse a new energy towards elections among the elderly also. Like him, other voters also took advantage of voting at home.

The voting process for home voting in the first phase of Lok Sabha constituencies will continue from April 5 to 13. If for some reason the voter is absent or deprived of home voting, the second phase will take place between April 15 and 16.

Lok Sabha elections in Rajasthan will be held in two phases on 19 and 26 April. In the first phase, voting will be held on April 19 in 12 seats Ganganagar, Bikaner, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Jaipur Rural, Jaipur, Alwar, Bharatpur, Karauli-Dholpur, Dausa and Nagaur.

In the second phase, voting will be held on 13 seats Tonk, Ajmer, Pali, Jodhpur, Barmer, Jalore, Udaipur, Banswara, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand, Bhilwara, Kota and Jhalawar on April 26.
