Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the opposition 'India' alliance aims to earn 'commission' after coming to power, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is on a 'mission'. Addressing an election rally in Saharanpur, Modi said the opposition alliance is fighting to stop the BJP from winning more than 370 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

PM Modi said, 'Congress' focus was on earning 'commission' during its rule. 'India' alliance also aims to earn 'commission' after coming to power, but NDA and Modi government are on a 'mission'. 'The opposition is only fighting to stop BJP from winning more than 370 seats. Samajwadi Party (SP) is changing candidates every hour, while Congress is not getting any candidates to field.

He said, 'Congress does not have the courage to field candidates even on those seats which are considered its stronghold.' PM Modi said that the Congress manifesto has the imprint of the Muslim League and some parts of it are dominated by the Left. Prime Minister Modi said that the 'India' alliance has become synonymous with instability and uncertainty and the people of the country are not taking it seriously. He said that it is unfortunate for the country that the opposition alliance is talking about fighting against 'Shakti'.

PM Modi said, 'Worshiping Shakti is a part of our natural spiritual journey, but the people of 'India' alliance say that their fight is against 'Shakti'.

According to the election schedule, voting will be held on April 19 in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections on eight Lok Sabha seats of Uttar Pradesh. These seats are- Saharanpur, Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Nagina (reserved), Moradabad, Rampur and Pilibhit. Counting of votes will take place on June 4.
