The names of the candidates are being continuously announced by the Congress regarding the Lok Sabha elections. 10 more names were announced on Sunday. Congress announced the names of candidates for 3 seats in alliance with AAP in Delhi. Kanhaiya Kumar, Udit Raj, JP Aggarwal have been made candidates by the party on three seats in Delhi.

Kanhaiya Kumar has been made the candidate from North East Delhi. Here he will face BJP's Manoj Tiwari. Whereas JP Aggarwal has been made the candidate from Chandni Chowk, Udit Raj from North East Delhi.

Apart from the three seats of Delhi, Gurjit Singh has been made the party's candidate from Amritsar seat of Punjab. Former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi will be the Congress candidate from Jalandhar. Amar Singh from Fatehgarh Saheb, Jeet Mohinder Singh Sidhu from Bathinda, Sukhpal Singh Khaira from Sangrur, Dharamveer Gandhi from Patiala and Ujjwal Revati Raman Singh from Allahabad seat have been made candidates.

Kanhaiya Kumar had lost the election from Begusarai in the last Lok Sabha elections.
In the last Lok Sabha elections, Kanhaiya Kumar was fielded by CPI from Begusarai seat of Bihar. Kanhaiya Kumar had to face defeat from Union Minister Giriraj Singh in this election. Later Kanhaiya Kumar joined the Congress Party. He participated in Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra.

What did Kanhaiya Kumar say on not getting ticket from Begusarai?
When asked about RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav's alleged opposition to his candidature from Begusarai due to insecurity, Kumar said, “I am not such a big person that whose father, mother had been chief ministers, he himself was a chief minister till a few months ago.” He was the Deputy Chief Minister, he will be scared of us. They need to be afraid of the current governance and situation of the country.

Kanhaiya Kumar had said, “I do not see myself limited to any place for political struggle. The party will say that if it wants to contest elections, it will contest from anywhere among the 543 seats. You will never disobey party orders, but it is natural that you feel comfortable in a place you know.

There is an alliance between Aam Aadmi Party and Congress in Delhi
Aam Aadmi Party and Congress are contesting elections together in Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party has fielded candidates on 4 Lok Sabha seats of Delhi, while 3 seats have gone to Congress. Congress has also left seats for Aam Aadmi Party in Haryana and Gujarat. There is no alliance between the two parties in Punjab.

Kanhaiya Kumar is in charge of NSUI
Congress had appointed Kanhaiya Kumar, former president of Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union, in-charge of the National Students Union of India (NSUI). NSUI is the student wing of Congress. Former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi laid the foundation of NSUI on 9 April 1971. It was formed by merging Kerala Students Union and West Bengal State Students Council.

Names of candidates also announced for Odisha assembly elections
The Congress Party also announced 75 names for the Odisha Assembly elections on Sunday. It is noteworthy that along with the Lok Sabha elections, assembly elections are also being held in Odisha. Congress party has been away from power in Odisha for a long time. Biju Janata Dal leader Naveen Patnaik is the Chief Minister in the state.
