Cases of atrocities on minorities have been coming to light many times in Pakistan. Meanwhile, Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Pakistan claims that Pakistan Police destroyed 80 graves of Ahmadiyya Muslims under the pressure of religious fundamentalists.
Jamaat-e-Ahmadiya Pakistan, an organization representing the Ahmadi community in Pakistan, says that this incident took place in Daska in Punjab province, about 100 kilometers from Lahore.
According to Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Pakistan, under pressure from religious fundamentalists, the police destroyed a total of 80 graves in two different cemeteries belonging to the Ahmadiyya community.
In a statement issued by the organization, it was said that this despite the fact that the Punjab Government had allotted this cemetery land to the Ahmadiyya community. The police destroyed these graves.
In this regard, Assistant Commissioner of the squad Anwar Ali Kanju had issued illegal orders to destroy these graves. The organization said that Anwar Ali has been involved in the oppression of Ahmadis for a long time. The government needs to understand that officers like Anwar are tarnishing the image of Pakistan at the global level.
Let us tell you that about 40 lakh Ahmadiyya Muslims live in Pakistan. In 1889, the Ahmadiyya community was established in a village named Qadian. This village is now in Punjab, India. Due to the differences between the beliefs of Ahmadiyya Muslims and those of Sunni or Shia Muslims, many Muslims consider Ahmadiyya Muslims to be heretics.
