Republic Day 2024: 75th Republic Day with a grand display of women empowerment
India is all set to celebrate the 75th Republic Day with a grand display of women empowerment. The 75th Republic Day parade on the Path of Duty will be women-centric and 'Developed India' and 'India-Mother of Democracy' will be the main themes. President Draupadi Murmu will lead India in celebrating the 75th Republic Day with a grand display of its growing military might and rich cultural heritage during the parade on the duty path today. French President Emmanuel Macron is attending this grand ceremony as the chief guest.
Former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu, actress Vyjayantimala Bali, actor Konidela Chiranjeevi, late Bindeshwar Pathak, founder of Sulabh International, late M. Fathima Beevi, the first woman judge of the Supreme Court and Hormusji N., owner of 'Bombay Samachar'. It was announced on Thursday that 132 eminent personalities including Cama would be honored with the Padma Award.
On Friday, 26 tableaux focused on “women empowerment” will be displayed on the Path of Duty, which will give a glimpse of the role of women in socio-economic activities and the contribution of women scientists.
Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officer Vibhor Kumar Singh, who lost his leg during an anti-Naxal operation in the forests of Bihar in 2022, has been awarded the Shaurya Chakra on the eve of the 75th Republic Day. 29 Delhi Police personnel will also be given gallantry and service medals in various categories.
