WhatsApp server went down on Wednesday night at around 11:30 pm. However, service was restored after half an hour. Due to server issues with Meta's instant messaging, people faced problems while sending and receiving messages from the application.
During the outage, consumers faced issues while trying to log in to the browser version of WhatsApp or the WhatsApp app. During this time, people could not use messages and services like audio and video calls on WhatsApp.
According to India Today, there have been more than 17,000 such incidents in which users have reported issues with the messaging platform. While over 30,000 users in India, over 67,000 users in the United Kingdom and 95,000 users in Brazil reported problems with the platform. Meta did not immediately respond to the issue.
