IPL 2024: In the current season of IPL, Hardik Pandya has been in the news for many reasons. Hardik, who was earlier trolled for his poor captaincy, is now being blamed for hiding his injury. Former New Zealand cricketer Simon Doull has expressed doubt over Hardik Pandya getting a place in the Indian team for the T20 World Cup 2024. Simon is convinced that Hardik is hiding some injury, due to which he has bowled very little for Mumbai Indians in the last few matches. Recall that Pandya could not play in the 2023 ODI Cricket World Cup due to an ankle injury. After that he did not play any cricket from October 2023 till the start of IPL 2024.

Simon Doull while discussing on Cricbuzz said, “You become the topic of discussion by bowling the first over in the first match, but then suddenly the team does not need your bowling. He is injured. I am telling that with him definitely There is some problem. He is not accepting the injury, but there is definitely something wrong with him. My conscience tells me that he is injured.”

Hardik Pandya has bowled a total of 8 overs so far in IPL 2024, in which he has taken only 1 wicket while giving away runs at an economy rate of more than 11. In the same discussion, when fellow analyst Harsha Bhogle asked whether Hardik would be able to make a place in the Indian team for the T20 World Cup only as a batsman. In response, Simon Doull said that Pandya can definitely secure a place in the Indian team, but for this he will have to bowl 4 consecutive overs while playing for Mumbai Indians. According to Simon, there is some injury which is preventing Hardik Pandya from opening his hands for bowling.
