India vs England 1st Test: England defeated India by 28 runs in the first match of the Test series. Team India, captained by Rohit Sharma, performed well in the first innings. But the team faltered in the second innings. Former Indian cricketer Parthiv Patel has reacted regarding this match. He believes that Kuldeep Yadav should have got a chance instead of Akshar Patel. Along with this, he says that if Mohammad Siraj was not to be used much, then a good batsman could have been kept in his place in the playing eleven.
Parthiv responded about the spinners. He said on Geo Cinema, “There is no doubt that three spinners were enough. But I think differently. You gave only 6-7 overs to Siraj in the match. Akshar Patel was given a chance before Kuldeep Yadav. His batting is also good. Rohit had told this before the match. If you wanted variety then you should have chosen Kuldeep. You could have kept a pure batsman in the team instead of Siraj. It would have been good if you had extra batter.
Team India gave only 4 overs to Siraj in the first innings against England. He gave 28 runs during this period. Whereas Siraj got 7 overs in the second innings.
