India vs England 1st Test: India had to face defeat in the first match of the Test series against England. Team India lost the Hyderabad test by 28 runs. Shubman Gill was a flop in this match. He came to bat at number 3 in both the innings. Yashasvi Jaiswal opened for India with Rohit Sharma. Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer has given suggestions to Team India regarding this. Jaffer believes that Rohit should bat at number 3.
Jafar shared a post on X on Monday. In this he gave suggestions regarding the batting order of Team India. Jaffer wrote, “Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma can open. My suggestion is that Rohit should bat at number three in the second test. It is not right for Shubman to wait for his batting. It would be better if they open. Rohit plays spin well. Therefore he should bat at number 3.
It is noteworthy that Shubhman has opened for Team India on many occasions and has also performed well. Shubman was out after scoring 23 runs in the first innings of Hyderabad Test. He was out on zero in the second innings. He came to bat at number 3 in both these innings. While opening, Yashasvi had scored 80 runs in the first innings. Whereas Rohit had scored 24 runs in the first innings. Rohit had scored 39 runs in the second innings. Whereas Yashasvi was out after scoring 15 runs.
Gill and Jaiswal should open and Rohit should bat at no.3 in 2nd test in my opinion. Waiting to bat for his turn isn't helping Shubman, it's better he opens the inn. Rohit plays spin really well, so batting at no.3 should not worry him too much. #INDvENG
