Bumrah made his Test debut for Team India in January 2018. He played his first match against South Africa at Newlands. Bumrah had bowled 19 overs in the first innings of the match and given 73 runs. During this, one wicket was taken and one maiden over was bowled. Bumrah had bowled De Villiers. After this, 11.2 overs were bowled in the second innings. He took 3 wickets for 39 runs in this innings.
