PBKS vs DC: The second match of IPL 2024 was played between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals at the Maharaja Yadavinder Singh Stadium located in Chandigarh. Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and invited Delhi Capitals to bat first. Although Delhi seemed to be struggling in batting, but in the last over, Abhishek Porel scored 25 runs in Harshal Patel's over and took Delhi to the score of 174 runs. Punjab made a fast start to chase the target. Wickets kept falling from one end, but Sam Curran led the team to victory by staying at the crease till the last overs. Punjab Kings have defeated Delhi Capitals by 4 wickets.

David Warner and Mitchell Marsh started the innings for Delhi Capitals. Both the Australian players gave a great start to Delhi. Warner played an inning of 29 runs in 21 balls and Marsh played a stormy innings of 20 runs in 12 balls. Rishabh Pant was making a comeback after a long time, but he returned to the pavilion after scoring 18 runs in 13 balls. Shay Hope also contributed 33 runs in 25 balls, but Abhishek Porel was most impressed. Abhishek scored 32 runs in just 10 balls, which included 4 fours and 2 sixes. He made headlines by scoring 25 runs on the balls of Harshal Patel in the 20th over of the innings.

Shikhar Dhawan gave a fast start to Punjab Kings. He scored 22 runs in 16 balls, but Jonny Bairstow was run out after scoring 9 runs in 3 balls. Punjab's run rate remained very low in the middle overs and wickets kept falling at frequent intervals. Prabhsimran Singh scored 26 runs in 17 balls, but Sam Curran's sensible innings kept Punjab Kings in the match. He played an inning of 63 runs in 47 balls. Meanwhile, Khalil Ahmed had made the match exciting by taking 2 consecutive wickets in the 19th over. Punjab Kings finally won by 4 wickets thanks to Liam Livingstone's inning of 38 runs in 21 balls.
