IPL 2024 Schedule: The 17th season of IPL will be played between 22 March and 26 May. Before this, Women's Premier League will be organized. Women's Premier League matches will be played between 22 February and 17 March. This has been revealed in a report.
According to a report by Cricbuzz, BCCI has finalized the dates for IPL 2024. Under this, the opening match is to be played on 22 March and the final match is to be held on 26 May. However, this is yet to be finalized. If this schedule is final then accordingly this tournament will end just 5 days before the T20 World Cup. Let us tell you that T20 World Cup 2024 is to start from June 1 in West Indies and US. However, Team India has to play its first match on 5th June.
General elections will have an impact
This schedule of IPL may be affected by the general elections to be held this year. In fact, when IPL is to be played, Lok Sabha elections are also to be held across India. These elections, to be held in different phases, are to begin from March and continue till May. In such a situation, it is possible that BCCI may first discuss its IPL schedule with the government.
Despite the Lok Sabha elections, there is every hope that IPL will be held in India this year. Actually, due to Lok Sabha elections in 2009 and 2014, IPL was held outside India. However, the opportunity to do so did not arise in 2019.
Indian players will get a break of 10 days
If these dates of IPL remain final then Indian players will get only 10 days break after the England Test series. Let us tell you that the last match of the 5-match Test series against England is to be played between 7 to 11 March.
