Mohammed Siraj Emotional: Mohammad Siraj is almost certain to play his first Test against England in Hyderabad. Siraj is one of the main pacers included in the squad. Before playing the Test at home ground, Siraj became emotional remembering his father. He said that it was his father's dream to see him play for India.
Speaking on 'JeoCinema', Siraj said, “I lost my father before my Test debut in Australia. That was the most difficult phase for me. But I thought it was my father's dream that I should play for India and I must fulfill my father's dream.”
Let us tell you that at the time of his father's death, Siraj was given the option to return to India from Australia but he decided not to go back. Siraj took 5 wickets in his debut test played on December 26, 2020 in Melbourne. The Indian pacer further said, “My family asked me not to return home and fulfill my father's dream.”
Siraj has played 23 tests so far. Bowling in 42 innings of these matches, he has taken 68 wickets at an average of 28.25. During this period, the Indian pacer has taken five wicket haul 3 times and four wicket haul 4 times. Since his debut, Siraj has been one of India's main bowlers in Tests.
Hyderabad Test will start from January 25
The five-match Test series to be played between India and England will start from Thursday, January 25. The first match will be played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The last match of the Test series starting in January will be played in March. It is noteworthy that Team India has been announced only for the first two tests.
