New debate broke out regarding captain in Pakistan cricket, Afridi made this demand theinsiderinsight

The controversy over captaincy in Pakistan cricket is increasing further. Former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi has demanded to appoint only one captain in all three formats. Not only this, Afridi believes that whoever is the new captain of Pakistan cricket team, he should get at least three years' time. Earlier, after poor performance in the World Cup, Babar Azam had left the captaincy of Pakistan cricket team in all three formats. After Babar, Shaheen Afridi was made the captain in the limited overs format, while the command of the Test team went to Shaun Masood.

But even after changing the captain, there was no change in the fortunes of the Pakistan team. Pakistan lost the test series against Australia 3-0. After this, Pakistan had to face a crushing defeat of 4-1 in the T20 series against New Zealand. Afridi was already not in favor of appointing Shaheen as the limited overs captain. Afridi said, “Pakistan Cricket Board should appoint only one captain in all three formats. There is no need to make him a vice-captain. This message should be clear to all the players as to who is commanding the team.''

Captain should get time

Afridi further said, “The captain and team management should get a three-year contract.” The longer the time, the better a team can be prepared. If you do not give time, then there is pressure on the captain and management to prove yourself quickly. It should not happen. You cannot build a good team in a hurry. If Hafeez has got a chance then he should not be judged on one series. Hafeez should get full opportunity to prove himself. The same thing applies to the captain of the team.''
