Rajasthan on front foot with Samson-Parag partnership, Gujarat set target of 197 runs theinsiderinsight

RR vs GT: Rajasthan Royals, who came to bat first after losing the toss, scored 196 runs playing first. That means now Gujarat Titans will have to score 197 runs to win. The top order of Rajasthan Royals appeared to be struggling this time too. Jos Buttler had scored a century in the last match, but this time he was out after scoring only 8 runs. The form of Yashasvi Jaiswal is a matter of concern, who could score only 24 runs. The maximum runs for Rajasthan were scored by Riyan Parag, who scored 76 runs in 48 balls. Apart from him, Sanju Samson also contributed 68 runs in 38 balls to take RR beyond the score of 190 runs. In the last overs, Shimron Hetmyer stole the show by playing a cameo inning of 13 runs in 5 balls.

Rajasthan was struggling at one point as the team was able to score only 73 runs at the loss of 2 wickets in 10 overs. From here captain Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag took the responsibility and scored 61 runs in the next 5 overs, due to which RR's score in 15 overs became 134 runs. Riyan Parag and Sanju Samson were not ready to stop, who were continuously trying to play big shots. But in the 19th over, Riyan Parag lost his wicket on the ball of Mohit Sharma. There was a partnership of 130 runs between Samson and Parag. Whereas Parag hit 3 fours and 5 skyscraper sixes in his innings of 76 runs. Rajasthan players scored 123 runs in the last 10 overs.

GT's bowling failed after a good start

Gujarat Titans had won the toss and decided to bowl first, which proved to be great for them in the beginning as Rajasthan Royals had lost the wickets of both their openers on the score of just 42 runs. From here, Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag had an excellent partnership and together they thrashed the Gujarat bowlers. Apart from Rashid Khan, no one from Gujarat could bowl well because everyone gave away runs at an economy rate of more than 9 or 10. Only Umesh Yadav, Mohit Sharma and Rashid Khan could take one wicket each.
