Team India captain Rohit Sharma has been making good starts in the last several matches, but has not been able to convert them into big innings. Rohit Sharma also played innings of 24 and 39 runs in the first test against England. However, in both the innings, captain Rohit Sharma was out after making irresponsible shots. Whereas KL Rahul handled the responsibility of number four in the absence of Virat Kohli very well. KL Rahul scored 86 runs in the first innings of the first test. Rahul managed to score 22 runs in the second innings also. However, due to injury, KL Rahul is no longer a part of Team India in the second test.

In the second test, Team India will have to give a debut opportunity to either Sarfaraz Khan or Rajat Patidar. Deep Das Gupta said, “Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal should open.” Rajat Patidar should come at number three. Rohit Sharma should play at number four, while Shreyas Iyer should bat at number 5.
