When Prime Minister Narendra Modi was returning from a two-day state visit to Bhutan, the King and PM Tobgay reached the airport to see him off. PM Modi said that he got the opportunity to meet King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and PM Tobgay as well as other eminent people of Bhutan. Talks with him will further strengthen India-Bhutan friendship. Along with this, PM Modi also expressed his gratitude for being honored with the 'Order of the Druk Gyalpo'.

India will always be a reliable friend and partner for Bhutan.” Let us tell you that before this, PM Modi inaugurated the Gyaltsuen Jetson Pema Wangchuk Maternal and Child Hospital in Bhutan along with the PM there. Bhutan's Prime Minister Tobgay inaugurated the hospital equipped with modern facilities. Expressed gratitude to the Government of India for the full funding for its construction.

Bhutan's PM calls PM Modi 'elder brother'

During his visit, PM Modi announced a big aid package of Rs 10,000 crore for Bhutan's 13th five-year plan, which has further strengthened the relations between the two countries. Prime Minister Tobgay addressed PM Narendra Modi as 'friend and elder brother'. On reaching Bhutan, PM Modi was welcomed very warmly. During this, he said, “Our country Bhutan is honored to host PM Narendra Modi during his two-day state visit. Nothing can be better than this. Every citizen of Bhutan welcomed him with an open heart. His visit is historic. This will further strengthen the already strong relations between the two countries.”
