When is Eid 10th or 11th April?

Eid-ul-Fitr 2024: 5 special dishes for sweet Eid:

1. Vermicelli Kheer:

Meethi Eid is synonymous with vermicelli. You will see people making a variety of sweets using simple vermicelli – the most popular being kheer. It is very easy to make it. Like rice kheer, you have to boil milk with sugar and add vermicelli roasted in ghee and dry fruits and nuts to it. It is also called sheer khurma.

2. Kimami Vermicelli:

Kimami refers to an aromatic and sweet mixture consisting of vermicelli cooked for a long time. Here boiled vermicelli are cooked in desi ghee until they become beautifully brown. Sweet vermicelli tastes more delicious when cooked in ghee.

3. Zarda Pulao:

Also known as 'sweet rice', it is a dish associated with the Pashtun tribe of Afghanistan. According to food experts, the Mughals brought this rice dish to the Indian subcontinent, making it a popular part of Eid celebrations in the country today.

5. Phirni:

Made with easy and simple ingredients, Phirni is a perfect sweet that you can prepare at home for the Eid feast. To make basic phirni, you need rice flour, milk, sugar, cardamom, almonds and pistachios. To enhance the taste of the sweet, you can add more things to it as per your taste.
