Ismail Haniya said in an interview with Al Jazeera that three of his four sons were martyred in the war to liberate Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque. He said that the enemy thinks that by targeting the families of Hamas leaders they will make us bow down. This will make us step back from our demands. If anyone thinks that by targeting my sons they will force Hamas to change its stance, then it is an illusion.
Earlier, Ismail Haniya's grandson Jamal Muhammad Haniya had also been killed in an Israeli airstrike. Many of Hania's relatives have been killed so far in attacks by Israeli army IDF. Hania's granddaughter Roa Hammam Ismail Hania was also killed in the airstrike. She was studying medicine at Gaza University. Apart from this, claims have been made that Haniya's nephew and brother have also been killed in Israeli attacks.

Haniya, born on 29 January 1962 in a refugee camp in Gaza Strip, joined Hamas while still studying. In 2006, Haniya became the Prime Minister of Palestine. Many years ago he fled from Gaza Strip and came to Qatar. Haniya is currently living in exile in Qatar.
