LSG vs DC: Mayank Yadav, who created a stir with his sharp bowling for Lucknow Super Giants, will not play in the match against Delhi Capitals either. In the match against Delhi, his place has been given to young left arm fast bowler Arshad Khan. Arshad Khan was bought by Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022 for his base price i.e. Rs 20 lakh. His debut in IPL took place in 2023, where he took 5 wickets while playing 6 matches in the season. LSG added him in the 2024 auction and now he is getting a chance to play his first match in IPL 2024.

Who is Arshad Khan?

Arshad Khan was born on December 20, 1997 in Gopalganj city of Madhya Pradesh. Arshad is a left-arm bowler, but sees himself as an all-rounder and has regularly batted well in the lower order. Arshad started his cricket training under his father, Ashfaq, who was the cricket coach at Seoni District Cricket Association. At the age of only 14, Arshad Khan had made a place in the Under-16 team of Madhya Pradesh. In the 2017-2018 season, he was seen playing in the Under-23 team.

Arshad Khan first got fame when he took 36 wickets in the 2020 CK Nayudu Tournament and became the highest wicket taker in the entire tournament. Apart from this, he also contributed 400 runs to the team with the bat. His inning of 86 runs in 54 balls played against Mumbai was highly appreciated. Arshad Khan has taken 5 wickets while playing 9 matches in his T20 career so far. On the other hand, if we look at his List-A career, he has taken 11 wickets in 8 matches so far.
